Professional Active Shooter Training

Assess & Respond To An Active Shooter Incident

Cohen Security offers a comprehensive 2-3 hour briefing on active shooter incidents tailored to accommodate your house of worship, educational, medical, commercial, or government site. Our presentation elaborates on the who, what, where, when, why, and how of an active shooter incident. Who active shooters are, what happens during an active shooter incident, where active shooter incidents occur, when they occur, why they occur, and how you should respond.

Customized For Your Unique Situation

We have constructed two separate briefings, each for a different audience. Our first briefing is intended for civilians and focuses on an active shooter incident from the perspective of a bystander. The second briefing we offer is designed for First Responders and takes a more in-depth look at what to expect during an active shooter incident from the perspective of an individual responding to the threat. Both briefings include input from a variety of government agencies which include but are not limited to:

  • US Department of Homeland Security
  • Federal Bureau of Investigation
  • US Diplomatic Security Service
  • Israel Defense Forces
  • Israel National Police
  • Israeli Security Agency
  • Ministry of Defense (Israel)

Active Shooter Training For Civilians

Make sure your organization is prepared for the worst. Cohen Security offers active shooter training for your church, organization, government office, community or business. Our approach is adjusted to the particular circumstances of a given environment and helps you understand the mindset of an active shooter. We offer different types of active shooter training, including reliable church active shooter training in San Diego and carefully devised hotel active shooter training in Southern California.

You and your staff will learn how to react and what to do in order to ensure the safety of your staff or members. Our methods are backed by extensive field experience and knowledge in active shooter incidents and scenarios.

During our course, we will discuss possible self-defense strategies, indicate techniques that can help you survive an active shooter threat, and focus on different ways of conflict de-escalation. Most importantly, we will put this into practice by simulating real-life situations that require you to respond quickly.

Active Shooter Training For First Responders

As a first responder to an active shooter incident, you need to be prepared for a range of scenarios, some of you which you can anticipate, some of which may come at you unexpectedly. Our training is designed to prepare you for all possibilities.

The centerpiece of our instruction is the education we provide during the initial PowerPoint presentation. This in class instruction will give you a better understanding of an active shooter and help you feel more prepared to address such an incident.

At the end of each briefing, we recommend reinforcing the material covered in the presentation with on-site practice exercises. We will construct, implement, and execute drills that simulate real-world threats in any given environment under a variety of circumstances for instructional purposes.
